Our Mission
ABICalculator.info was built with one clear purpose: to make credible, actionable information about Peripheral Artery Disease and the Ankle-Brachial Index freely accessible to every patient in the United States and Canada.
PAD affects an estimated 10–12 million Americans and nearly 1 million Canadians. Most of them don't know they have it. And those who do get a diagnosis often leave their doctor's office with more questions than answers — questions like "What does my ABI score mean?", "Is this going to get worse?", "What can I actually do about this?"
This site was created to answer those questions. Clearly. Without unnecessary medical jargon. Without trying to sell anything.
What You'll Find Here
- A free ABI calculator — enter your blood pressure readings and get an instant, interpreted result with reference ranges and plain-language explanation
- Evidence-based patient guides — on every aspect of PAD and ABI testing, written to be readable by people who aren't doctors but who want real, accurate information
- Current information — our medical content is reviewed against the most recent ACC/AHA guidelines (2024), Canadian Cardiovascular Society publications, and ADA Standards of Medical Care in Diabetes (2026)
- Canada-specific content — dedicated resources on provincial health coverage, CCS guidelines, and Canadian vascular care access (not just a US-centric perspective)
